Excellent original Japanese dragon in waves kashira. Striking high-relief gold kin-iro carving. Guaranteed authentic original. Size: 40mm x 24mm x 9.5mm (Katana size) Material: Copper or Shakudo (Copper/gold alloy), with gold Kin-Iro and nice unusual patina nanako-ji and waves. My guess is it's low gold-content shakudo. Age: Edo period (probably shin-shinto, estimated only) Condition: Excellent, 95% of gold remains, carving is SHARP (you could almost cut yourself on the dragon scales!). Patina appears unusual dark bluish copper - beuatiful contast with gold No Reserve! - and low starting bid considering the quaity. I'll let the market decide what it's worth. I have been collecting koshirai pieces for a shinto period daisho for several years, and I finally settled on the ones I will use, so I am selling the other pieces. Please take a look at my other auctions for some really fine original fuchi, kashira, kozuka, menuki, and tsubas.
