A great, original copy of the VERY FIRST ISSUE of a magazine series considered to be one of the most influential publications in the history of American letters. Based out of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, from 1922-1925 "The Fugitives" showcased their works in this bi-monthly magazine. A group of poets and literary scholars, among the most notable Fugitives were John Crowe Ransom, Allen Tate, Merrill Moore, Donald Davidson, William Ridley Wills, and Robert Penn Warren. Softcover in wraps. Covers lightly faded along the spine and edges. A few creases along the top corner. Good condition with previous owner bookplate. A wonderful collectible! Noted Above.
