Fukagawa Hand-painted Porcelain Vase, Arita Japan, Blue Leaves Fukagawa porcelain is generally noted for its fine quality, high temperature porcelains. Since their first exports in 1900, the Fukagawa Porcelain Manufacturing Company quickly achieved a high level of competence and recognition. Over the years, over sixty prizes and honors have been awarded to the company for wares they have displayed at both foreign and domestic expositions. The vase is ginger jar shaped and is in excellent condition...no chips, cracks or crazing. The underglaze blue mark in Japanese characters means "Made by Fukagawa". It features the traditional Mt. Fuji mark. The original silver label is also on the underside of the vase. It reads: "Fukagawa Porcelain, Arita Japan", "Purveyors to the Imperial Household". The label also has the Mt. Fuji mark.
