Ancient American Indian made large heavy hardstone artifact full center groove hammerstone, axe, maul, war club? It is 8" long x 4" wide at its widest and tapers down to 2 1/2" wide and is about 13 1/4" diameter at wide end and it weighs 7 pounds 7.9 ounces. It was found in a farm field just outside of Monticello, Illinois in Piatt County. I got this from the man who found it in his brothers farm after the field was plowed up. I washed it as there were some stain runs from something in his garage that dripped on it but stain runs are still visible. It has a few old sliver chips on the wide end. What a great find!
