Thanks for checking in on our auctions. We are currently downsizing our collection and offering you the opportunity to own some of the finest items that we have collected over the last 20 years. Over the next year or so, we will be posting nearly 400 vintage stereo components, 200 vintage accessories, over a 1,000 pieces of literature, and about 30,000 pieces of media including 8 track tapes, cassettes, LPs and 45s. Completely serviced and refurbished Marantz 2270 Vintage 2 Ch Stereo Receiver !! VERY RARE and hard to find in this condition !! Simply one of the best receivers ever produced by Marantz !! Set the standard for the rest to follow !! Sold new for only three years from 1971 to 1973 !! $168.51 service completed on 3/11/11 by one of SoCal's best vintage electronics technicians !! Bench tested for over 8 hours under load !! We have run it for several more hours with absolutely no problems since its return to us !! Beautiful brushed satin finish on faceplate !! Faceplate and knobs are nearly perfect !! All silk-screened lettering except for power is fully intact and like new !! Dial glass is clean and clear with no scuffs nor scratches !! All meters, switches and lights work great !! 14 dial, meter & discrete mode lights were replaced !! Removed and replaced power switch !! Interior chassis was vacuumed and then thoroughly cleaned !! All controls were cleaned and treated with Caig's De-Oxit !! Original power switch was replaced with an upgraded, heavy duty switch that should last another 30 years !! 70 Big-Time, Old School WPC RMS into 8 ohms - one of the top 4 of all Marantz 22XX series receivers produced !! Will absolutely rock any normal listening venue using appropriate speakers !! We used JBL L-100's to check this unit out - - and WOW !!! Incredible Sound !! Warm and rich like vintage Marantz tube gear !! Booming Bass !! Life-like Mids !! Crystal-clear Highs !! An MFSL CD of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon sounded phenomenal !! Just like Waters and Gilmour were standing right by your side !! No noise in any of the controls !! FM tuner is really sensitive and pulls in hard-to-get stations clearly !! Comes with new FM dipole antenna still sealed in its original bag !! Accomodates 2 turntables, a cd player (aux), & two tape decks !! Drives two sets of speakers with ease !!
