Offered for sale is a small Fulton No.3708 smooth plane. Fulton was made by Sargent and the 3708 is the smallest smooth plane in the Fulton line. It is the same size as the Stanley No.2. (7 3/4" long with a 1 5/8" blade). This plane has some condition problems. The tote and front knob are VG to Excellent, blade, cap iron and lever cap are VG to excellent. The toe of the plane was obviously in water resulting in some rust around the base of the front knob. I made no attempt to clean the rust off. Cast iron normally cleans up very well and I suspect that when cleaned it will reveal some moderate pitting. This also left pitting on the very front of the plane on the bottom and both sides and one small spot on the frog. This pitting is very smooth and will not affect use. Buy it to use, restore or for the parts to go with a perfect 3708 body. Please view my other treasures for additional bargains. Good luck and thanks for looking.
