G.N. Ry Clear Globe Adlake Reliable Wood Handle Lantern On the top in raised letters ADLAKE RELIABE THE ADAMS & WESTLAKE CO. NEW YORK CHICAGO PHILAOn the rim in raised letters PATENTED SEPT 21 1897-MAY 5 1908 -2 PATS. JAN 26 1909-NOV 28 1911-2 PATS JULY 2 1912 The rim is slightly dented on one side as if it bumped into something while in use.The clear globe had in raised letters "SAFTEY ALWAYS" on one side and in raised letters on the other in an oval G.N. RY.The wick holder inside appears to be made of brass. The oil pan on the side has two tabs (appear to be brass) on one side the solder appears to be original and on the other the solder looks newer as if it has been re-soldered.The wood handle is in good condition, t are no visible cracks that I can see. On one edge is a smear of what appears to be gray paint as if a paint brush accidently hit it.The body of the lantern is about 8 ½" and the total height to the top of the handle is 14 1/2"
