A brilliantly painted and wonderfully detailed figurine of a boy who has fallen off his donkey, upsetting himself, the beast and several jugs. Both the donkey's belly and the boy's back are clearly stamped with "G SCHUTZT" a maker's mark and the number "3917". The overall measurements are about 5" x 4.5" x 3" high. The boy's hands, arms and toes, and the donkey's tail are the only areas that show wear, as pictured. Maybe the donkey's front legs, but he is varied shades of gray all over, so I am not sure. The fabric details, the rope that tied the carrier together, as all the aspects, are incredibly well done. Realistic expressions on both the donkey and the boy are very charming. Packed, it would weigh two pounds and would be coming from zip code 13031. A very special bronze collectable to bid on.
