Up for bid is an HO Great Northern semaphore signal- a N&G Signal Co. operable GRS 2-A top of mast Semaphore Signal built up and painted. Universally recognized as the only HO signals which are 100% accurate renditions of the real thing, N&G Signals are sought after by modelers and collectors who recognize the best. Formerly only available as kits, t are now available assembled. The proprietor of the former N&G Signal Co. has recently completed redone investment brass and photo-etched components and has hand assembled and painted a very limited amount of these HO signals. This is from a special 2nd run and is in the pre-1955 scheme of black paint, and red semaphore blade. These are made from brass, and include an investment cast spectacle, light housing, and equipment base. The mast is brass tubing, and the blade and ladder are fashioned from photoetched phosphor bronze. This signal has an operating 1 1/2 V. light, and the spectacle lenses are injection molded in the correct 3 colors. The base has a hollow threaded mounting stud in which the signal blade's operating piano wire rod extends down to the under table motorizing system (which is not included-the buyer will get a hardware pack which includes a clamp which clamps to the operating wire on one end). The semaphore blade moves with the up and down motion of this piano wire, and the fixed light shines through the rotating spectacle lenses. Buyer is to pay $5.00 shipping via Priority mail, which I believe is safer than first class. Insurance is optional at $2.50. I carefully pack these signals, but I won't be responsible for shipping damage if no insurance is purchased. Returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
