This is a first edition copy of Wells' STOLEN BACILLUS, 1912, from Macmillan's 7p Series. In fact, this is likely the FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION of this title, as no earlier editions had a frontispiece. Methuen first printed this title in 1895, followed by a "Cheaper Edition" in 1903. The title then transferred to Macmillan whom "reprinted" it's first edition in 1904, followed by this 7p version, which from the above history makes it also the THIRD EDITION(?)It's a Good copy. The light colored grey/blue covered shows spots and marks. Actually, minimal wear to the boards. The title on the darken spine is still gilt and complete. Quarter inch moisture staining in the upper left corner of the pages that affects just the margins and dissipates towards the end of the text. Frontispiece present. Endpapers tanned.Oh, yes, the dust jacket is a copy I made on my HP printer from an original copy in my collection.
