GOOD CONDITION This sale is for a vintage hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “ The Soul of a Bishop ,” subtitled “A Novel (with Just a Little Love in It) About Conscience and Religion and the Real Troubles of Life,” by H. G. Wells (1866–1946). It was published by Cassell and Company, Ltd., of London , and is the September, 1917 FIRST EDITION (stated). A novel about the effect of the First World War on English civilian life and the Roman Catholic Bishop of Princhester. The chapters are: o The Dream o The Wear and Tear of Episcopacy o Insomnia o The Sympathy of Lady Sunderbund o The First Vision o Exegetical o The Second Vision o The New World o The Third Vision H G Wells was an English novelist, journalist, sociologist, and historian. He was best known for his science fiction stories which have been filmed many times, such as “The Time Machine” (1895), one of the first modern science fiction stories, “The Invisible Man” (1897), and “The War of the Worlds” (1898). He wrote over a hundred books, about fifty of which were novels. The book measures 7.75 inches x 5 inches x 1.5 inches and has 320 pages, which are hand-cut to all rims.
