This is an unusual military post card printed by Gale & Polden depicting an East Yorkshire Regiment soldier. On the right had side of the picture are details of the pay and stoppages a member of the infantry could expect. I have shown the reverse view of the postcard which as you can see makes for interesting reading. The soldier, Fred was billeted to the Angel Hotel Beverley in charge of 200 men and he writes that drilling is for 8 hours a day He asks the recipient of the postcard not to send his washing because he has got a new kit. The post card has a postmarked halfpenny stamp on it and its general condition is pretty good considering its age A lovely and interesting addition to any East Yorkshire Regiment collector .
