This is a stylish... Â"Cameo GlassÂ" Decanter... with two matching Tumblers... and with that stylized Â"GalleÂ" signature on the Decanter and each of the Tumblers. The Decanter appears to be a Â"mouth-blownÂ" piece of glassware... with a hand-ground top rim. It stands just a little over 9 1⁄2 inches tall including the Â"StopperÂ". The Decanter itself... without the Stopper in place stands 7 1⁄2 inches tall. It looks to be about 5 1⁄2 inches across the widest point in the center. The Stopper itself also appears to be a Â"mouth-blownÂ" piece and is 3 inches tall... and about 3 1⁄4 inches across at the widest point. It also has a nicely hand-ground bottom rim. Each of the two Tumblers stand 3 inches tall and about 3 1⁄4 inches across at the widest point. They Â"mirrorÂ" the decanter in their Â"woodlandÂ" decorations... and glass colors. All four pieces... the Decanter... itÂ's Stopper... and the two Tumblers... are in excellent condition. The body glass color of each piece is a Amber to Lime Custard Yellow... and the Â"cameo styleÂ" Â"woodlandÂ" decorations are what I will call a light... to dark... Â"chocolate brownÂ". These decorations rap around the bottom portion of the Decanter in a impressive scenic embrace... with Trees and Mountains in the background... and all silhouetted against that lemon custard sky. The top rim of the Decanter is flared out for easy pouring... and the entire exterior of all four pieces have a Â"MatÂ" finish... usually referred to by collectors as Â"Satin GlassÂ"... or Â"Frosted GlassÂ"... while the interior... of each piece... has a smooth glassy finish. Each of the Â"short stubbyÂ" Tumblers have the same body glass color and decorations as we see in the Decanter. They also have the Satin Glass finish on their exteriors... and the smooth glass finish on their interiors. Each is also signed with that stylized Â"GalleÂ" signature. The glass colors used in some of these Â"GalleÂ" signed pieces are extraordinary to say the least. The incorporate glass colors that weÂ're not accustom to seeing... and in combinations of colors that cause you to stop... and take notice. These colors... along with the unusual shapes... combine to make stunning presentations!!!........ On each of the four pieces in this set the decorations are raised above the surface of the body glass... in a Â"CameoÂ" fashion... almost as if the background was carved away... leaving only the graceful foliage... standing out on the surface... and silhouetted against that striking... lemon lime back-ground!!!... We get numerous Emails asking... What is Â"Cameo GlassÂ"???... So for those of you not yet familiar with this style of Art-Glass... let me explain. What we call Â"Cameo GlassÂ" is the result of placing glass colors... one over another. Usually t is a base glass color... or colors... and the Â"art-workÂ" that the glass worker want to impress upon the viewer... is of a different color... or again colors. Sometimes these are contrasting with... and sometimes complementing the underlying colors. The end result is not only pleasing to the eye... but also with these varying levels and layers of glass... interesting and inviting to the touch. Bold in design... unsurpassed workmanship... tantalizing to the touch... and a delight to the eyes!!!... what more could we ask for???...
