Whatever this small Cameo Glass Vase lacks in size... it surly makes up for in artistry... imagination... and elegance!!!... This piece of "art glass" stands just 8 inches tall... from its hand ground bottom... to the hand ground top rim... about 2 ½ inches across the widest area in the middle... and appears to be in excellent condition. It is signed with the stylized "Galle" mark... close to the top along the side. I often stumble around... searching for the proper words... to describe some of these "wonders in glass". I can assure you... I've seen and written descriptions for some pretty impressive pieces of glassware over the years... and this beauty ranks right up these with the best of them. Many of these "Galle" marked Vases are large... often to large for some collectors. This small Vase gives us the same quality of artistry and workmanship... but in a more manageable size. I'll do my best to... "paint a picture with words"... and then we're going to let our gal Patty... prop up my feeble efforts... with her super photos!!!... In this gorgeous Vase the Glass Artisans have carry us deep into the forest... w two Deer stand amongst the trees... waterfall... lake and river... with rolling hills off in the distance... and all silhouetted against a dapples Honey Amber sky. Not much imagination is required to thoroughly enjoy this wilderness scene... "frozen in time" for us... by the artistic hands of the glass workers. The entire exterior of this Vase has a "Matt" finish... sometimes referred to as "Frosted Glass"... or "Satin Glass" by collectors. All of the art-work is raised above the surface of the Vase... in a "Cameo" fashion... almost as if the background had been carved away... leaving only the Goldfish... Snail Shell... and Vegetation... "standing out" on the surface... t to be enjoyed not only by the eyes... but also by the touch!!!... Slender and graceful... yet bold in design and implementation. Wild with imagination.... but at the same time... delicate... graceful... and very pleasing to the eye. Just a super piece of Art Glass!!!...
