This pottery is up for auction with no reserve and low opening bid. This seed pot has a fun design. The mostly cream-colored pot had small etched & painted lizards rising up out of it. It is signed by Efren Ledezma who is featured on page 104 of the book "The Many Faces of Mata Ortiz" and has a pot featured on page 65 of the 2010 book "Mata Ortiz Pottery Today". The pot is almost globe-shaped, it measures approximately 4 3/8" tall, 4 1/4" in diameter, and 15 1/2" in circumference. The opening in the top for the seed measures less than 1/8" in diameter. A whimsical addition to your collection? The pots are shipped double-boxed and insured. There are many places online to read about the history of Mata Ortiz and the story of Juan Quezada.
