Hello, I have for auction today an antique Garrard phonograph motor with crank and other parts. The handle on the crank will need a little work to be perfect as the wood would need to be sanded and stained and handle made back straight as it appears slightly bent on the handle end. The motor when cranked, would turn when the brake was taken off. The motor has the name Garrard , Reg., and No. 30 stamped on the top. The other smaller pieces show some wear and would need to be cleaned up/polished to use on a restoration, or use them as they are for a hobby. I am not an expert with any of these and have described it by what I see as a used, original item, as I have not cleaned or messed with anything, just took it out of the case. If you need parts for a restoration, these would be a good start. The turntable is 9 3/4" across and has black felt, however, the felt feels to be rough in touch, maybe there is some type of trick in making the felt soft again? The shaft that the turntable slides over has a slight rust on it and would probably clean right off for the right person. The outside of where the crank screws in would need to be cleaned also with some oil? But the threads look good. I am also selling the reproducer / Sound Box and the horn mount in a separate auction. Sold as/is due to age. U.S. Shipping only. Thank You and Have a read more
