A gasoline mileage tester US patent # 1,853,970 if that helps to date it. Donat A. Gauthier Automotive Engineer Detroit, Michigan I imagine this is from the 20's or 30's but may be much earlier. Directions are printed on the attached metal label. It looks as though it was designed to hang on a window as it has suction cups on the bottom and a clip on the top which would go over the top of the window glass. On the enclosed glass measure t is like a decal that says "1/10 U.S. Gal." T is also a brass fitting wired to it and the remanents of a small leather strap with buckle. Dusty but complete original.
