Take a look at this key date 1881-CC Morgan Silver Dollar! This coin, in our opinion, is in GEM/BU condition with many beautiful details and mind-blowing eye appeal. Enjoy the pictures we took for you! We are sure you will like what you see! The Morgan Dollar is named after its designer, George T. Morgan, who designed the obverse and reverse of the coin and were minted from 1878 to 1904 and again for one more year in 1921. The dollar was authorized by the Bland-Allison Act of 1878. It has a fineness of .900, giving a total silver content of 0.77344 troy ounces (24.057 grams) per coin. The Carson City Mint was built at the peak of the silver boom, 57 issues of silver coins minted here between 1870 and 1893 bore the "CC" mint mark. The mint was established in Carson City to facilitate minting of silver coins from silver in the Comstock Lode, somewhat like how the San Francisco Mint was established to facilitate minting gold coins from the gold of the California gold rush.
