This is a beautiful bright specimen - well crystallized , which is rare for this type of calcite vibrant pink, gemmy & glittering crystals of cobaltian calcite crystals on matrix - you have to see this one to believe it - absolutely phenomenal color . The Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire) has been a prolific producer of excellent specimens for many years now. There are crystals on both sides of the matrix on this piece. This specimen is very attractive, containing shades of vivid hot pink colors. This piece is very sparkly ! The specimen is from: Near Kolwezi, Kolwezi Dist., Katanga Copper Crescent , Katanga, (formerly Shaba Province), Democratic republic of Congo It is 4.9 by 4 .0 by 2. 7 cms in size.
