BEAUTIFUL EARLY PATRIOTIC EPHEMERA FOR THE CIGAR BOX LABEL AND LITHOGRAPH COLLECTOR! Two great vintage lithograph cigar box labels are beautifully embossed. One label is a patriotic portrait of General John Cabell Breckinridge in uniform sporting a fantastic moustache and the other label is a short biography of his life and military career. Portrait is framed by brilliant gold-highlighted Rococo style "S" and "C" curves and is flanked by two flags with four gold "coins" at the bottom. Biography label has symbolic olive or laurel branches and a shield with the Confederate flag printed on it. General Breckinridge was a Senator from Kentucky, the 14th US Vice President (under President James Buchanan), and the last Confederate Secretary of War. Portrait label measures 131x115mm and is in very good condition. T is very light corner wear and two corners have small light creases right at the tips. Biography label measures 255x153mm and is in very good condition as well with only very light corner wear. Any imperfections DO NOT affect the images. All colors are still bright and vivid. Any marks appear to be from age and do not take away from the items overall aesthetics and importance. Early cigar box label subject matter has great symbolism and represents American patriotism!
