This is a genuine 1840 antique tin horn noisemaker. This measures 22" long and the end is 3 1/4" in diameter. These were used in the Hudson Valley in Upstate New York during the Anti-Rent Helderberg War. A tin horn similar to this was also used in Tin Horns and Calico. The young girl in the story used the horn as an alarm to save the land of her family from being taken away.
