GENUINE G.P.O. No.1 BELL SET - ERICSSON 1924 - FULLY WORKING An excellent example of a G.P.O. No.1 Bell Set originally issued for use with Candlestick or Tele 162 bakelite telephones, which had no integral induction coil. The bell set is wired with a length of original braided cable, G.P.O. connection block and modern PSTN cable and plug, so this can also be used as a bell for use with other telephones too - just plug it into a 'doubler' from any good DIY shop and it will ring on an incoming call. Alternatively, the bell set can be wired up to any Candlestick or Tele 162, as originally. If you like that traditional brrring, brrring sound, then this will appeal to you! The bell set works very well and is in nice condition. A few marks on the woodwork and general blemishes, as one would expect after nearly 90 years, but this is better than very many I've seen over the years. One bell is very nice, the other a little less so, but both retain the original anodised finish - many have been quite wrongly polished to the underlying brass. The rear of the set is marked G.P.O. E '24 over 235 No.1 (i.e. made by Ericsson in 1924) and all wooden spacers are present. Inside, there is a clear paster wiring diagram. This bell set is well worth adding to your collection. Nice ones are getting much harder to find now, so don't miss this! I have read more
