NEW YORK CITY FOLIO OF : Paterson, Harlem, Staten Island, Brooklyn Quadrangle NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY INDEX MAP SCALE 40 MILES- 1 INCH CONTENTS: DISCRIPTION TEXT SURFICIAL GEOLOGY MAPS TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS STRUCTUAL GEOLOGY MAPS HISTORICAL GEOLOGY MAPS ILLUSTRATION SHEETS (2) Field Edition New York City Folio No. 83 WASHINGTON D.C. ENGRAVED AND PRINTED BY THE U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY George W. Stose, Editor of Geologic Maps S.J. Kubel, Chief Engraver 1902 Most of the Maps are 16 1/2" x 20". The only damage that I see is to the edges of some of the maps. The Topography Maps (13) are from Surveying in 1888-1889-1897 and others 1901-1902. The different maps cover, New York-New Jersey Harlem Quadrangle, New York Islip Quadrangle, New Jersey- N.Y. Staten Island Quadrangle, N.Y. Hempstead Quadrangle, N.Y. Suffolk County East Hampton Quad.,N.Y. Brooklyn Quad., Sag Harbor Quad., N.Y. (Suffolk County) Riverhead Quad., N.Y. (Suffolk County) Gardeniers dIsland Quad., N.Y. (Suffolk County) Shelter Island quad., N.Y.--Connecticut Oyster Bay Quad., N.Y. (Suffolk County) Moriches Quad., N.Y (Suffolk County) Montauk Quad. T are (13) more Topography Maps of similar areas, some are as late as 1904. The Maps in tha Atlas itself are in great condition, the extra 13 do have damage around the edges. The Cover Page is in bad condition, losts of missing paper around the edges, but you know what it is. T are TWO Illustration Sheets, each has 6 Photo's taken in the late 1890-1904. The first one has pictures of Basalt Columns of first Watchung Flow, O'Rourke"s Quarry, West of Orange, N.J., Palesades of the Hudson seen from Yonkers N.Y., Palesades of the Hudson from the N.J. side. Conformable contact of Basalt of the First Watchung flow on Newark Sandstones, Below Falls of the Passaic, Paterson, N.J. The second Illustration Sheet has 6 Photos: Great Falls of Passaic River, Paterson, N.J., Little Falls of Passaic River, at the Town of Little Falls, N.J., Glaciated Surface of Hudson Schist, Bronx Park, N.Y. City, Near View of Great Falls of Passaic River, Pateson, N.J., Terminal Moraine near Grassmere, Staten Island, N.Y. HISTORICAL GEOLOGY SHEETS (3) New York---New Jersey Harlem, New Jersey---New York Island quad., New York, Brooklyn SURFICIAL GEOLOGY SHEETS (4) New Jersey---New York & Patterson Quad., New York---New Jersey Harlem quad., New Jersey--New York Staten Island quad., New York Brooklyn Quad.
