is one of a large collection of Geologic Atlas Folios that I will be offering. These were part of the " Department of Interior United States Geological Survey ~` GEOLOGIC ATLAS of the UNITED STATES ~~ Anthracite Crested Butte Folio ~~ Colorado ". This one is Folio Number 9. J. W. Powell was the Survey Director when this was issued in 1894. It measures approximately 18 1/2" by 21 1/2". The folio contains the Index Map , Description , Topography , Areal Geology , Economic Geology , Structure Sections , Columnar Sections. It is the heavy weight paper and sturdy library spine binding taped edition." Published in Washington D. C. ~~ Engraved and Printed by the U. S. Geological Survey ~~ Bailey Willis , Editor of Geologic Maps ~~ S. J. Kubel Chief Engraver ~~ 1894 ". Great John Wesley Powell historical rarity. It has some edge chipping and soiling , with library markings but overall is in very good condition. It has 14 pages of text with detailed overview of the region. T are eight full page full color engraved maps listed listed above. T are also the Columnar graph and Structure sheet. Extremely rare and seldom seen. Perfect for the historian , engineer, mining buff or map collector. Wonderful as a historical document or very frameable for the den or office.
