A Pair of Georg Jensen Silver Pyramid Style Sugar Nips Made in Denmark between 1933 and 1935 Imported into Great Britain in 1935 Up for auction is a pair of sterling silver sugar nips by Georg Jensen. These nips are pure Art Deco in style, and would coordinate beautifully with pyramid pattern flatwear. These nips have a pleasing weight in the hand, and the spring mechanism is in tight, fully working order. T is very litttle evidence of wear to any part of these nips, particularly the nipping tips, w a fine thread detail is still whole and crisp. Just look at the photos. MARKS: The two component elements of this pair of sugar nips bear the following hallmarks: LEFT, top to bottom : "DENMARK" followed by "GJ" in a box ( Jensen's maker's mark from 1933-1944 ), "925" in an oval punch (the sterling purity), and a n oval punch with a "u" at the centre ( the British Importation Mark). RIGHT, top to bottom: "STERLING" , followed by "G.J. Ld" in a square punch (The mark for items retailed in the Georg Jensen shop in London), an oval punch with a "u" at the centre (the British importation mark), " 925" in an oval punch : for items of sterling purity, finally a letter " u" for London 1935, the date these nips were imported into Britain from Denmark.
