George Gershwin Signed and Framed Check Display- PSA/DNA Auction LOA Featured is a personal check measuring 6.5 x 2.75 filled out and signed by one of the most famous composers of all time George Gershwin. The legendary composer wrote most of his vocal and theatrical works in collaboration with his elder brother lyricist Ira Gershwin. Gershwin composed both for Broadway and for the classical concert hall. He also wrote popular songs with success. Many of Gershwin's compositions have been used on television and in numerous films, and many became jazz standards. Famous jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald recorded many of the Gershwins' songs on her 1959 Gershwin Songbook and the greatest singers and musicians have recorded Gershwin songs. The list includes Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John Fahey, Nina Simone, Judy Garland and countless others. The personal check measures 6.5 x 2.75 and has been filled out and signed by Legend George Gershwin. It has been made payable to Saks 5th Ave for $ 31.00 on December 4th, 1929. The check is present in the middle of the display and has been matted and framed with a biographical sheet and 2 images to overall size of 21 x 11.5. Punch cancellation and faint bank stamp lightly touching signature and small chip to the left edge of check which can be viewed in images.
