************* George III Hanoverian Teaspoon London c.1775 by Robert Hare This is a lovely plain little Hanoverian pattern teaspoon, made in London around 1775 by the renowned spoonmaker Robert Hare. Without decoration, frills or fancies, but with crisp owner's initials H+G at the top of the stem reverse. The usual and clear two hallmarks, for this type of spoon, comprise maker's initials RH and the lion passant. The bowl back has a partially soft divided double drop heel. The bowl itself is a little polished but in good condition, showing only very little wear to the bowl tip, considering that it has probably stirred numerous cups of tea during the last 237 years approx! All in all it is in good overall condition, an honest little collectable spoon. 11.9 cms 14 gms **********
