This George III silver chamber stick was made in Sheffield in 1810 by John Roberts&Co. it measures 6 5/8 inches in length by 5 inches wide and is 4 inches tall, it has a gadrooned border with shell and acanthus leaf detail to the corners of both the tray and the sconce with a further band of gadrooning above the slot for the trimmers. The detachable sconce is fully hallmarked as is the underside of the base, it has what appears to be an old repair to the seam of the candle holder bowl although this could be original and t are also a couple of dings to the other side of the bowl from w the cone shaped snuffer used to sit, unfortunately this is missing now as are the wick trimmers although we are included a close plate pair that fit, some of the plate is missing but they do the job. It has a large shell shaped thumb piece to the carrying handle and t are a couple of small dings to the pan but nothing major, a nice pretty chamber stick being sold with no reserve and weighing 10.5 ounces.Please use "view sellers other items" button for more early sterling and early silver items and thanks for taking the time to look.PAYMENT METHODS AS FOLLOWS:- The easiest and quickest method for overseas transactions is by credit card direct (excluding American Express).
