These circa 1920's dinner plates were made by the fine china Staffordshire pottery of George Jones & Sons Crescent Ware and imported by the H. Plummer company of New York City - an early 1900's competitor of Tiffany New York. George Jones was a Minton apprentice who learned his craft well and produced some of the most collectible majolica and china of the mid 1800's to mid 1900's. The plates are in outstanding condition - no chips, cracks or crazing, with big blowzy pink cabbage roses surrounded by green leaves and handpainted accents of gold on an elegant Stafford shape. Measure just a hair under 10". These are heavy duty fine china plates, built to last centuries, and look so great with pink, aqua or green Depression glass. Excellent for your cottage style or shabby chic decor. Beautiful for a bed and breakfast or rose cottage also. Very similar to the popular Drop Rose pattern.
