GEORGE MCMANUS ORIGINAL COMIC STRIP ART PANHANDLE PETE THE ACTUAL HAND-DRAWN ART! ONE-OF-A-KIND COLLECTIBLE! George McManus "went to New York in 1904 and joined Joseph Pulitzer's "The World", w he would create several different strips for the next eight years. These strips are largely forgotten, but a couple of them, notably "Cheerful Charley" and "Panhandle Pete" are remembered for their wit." He also created "Bringing Up Father" with Maggie & Jiggs. This original comic strip (probably produced sometime between 1904 to 1912, probably around 1910?) features a "prohibition" joke dated "April 7." It measures 13" x 22 ½". This page is in solid good condition. T are 8 tears along the edges with missing corner pieces. It is NOT chipping or falling apart but does have some discoloration. T is some writing at the top and bottom outside the margins & some other number writing at the top right corner and outside the right margin area..
