George Nelson Herman Miller Armchair 1940 Modernism Housekite has available for bids one George Nelson - designed arm chair produced by Herman Miller Furniture Company of Zeeland, Michigan in solid (tawny) walnut. The chair is intact save for one tack glide. The chair exhibits some wear to its finish and upholstery, but is structurally sound. The walnut has dark highlights and almost looks like rosewood. The fabric is original, perhaps of Alexander Girard design. The piece retains its tag and is signed with its product number 4663. The chair is one of Nelson's earliest designs for Herman Miller. Nelson was a contemporary and collaborator with Ray and Charles Eames, Alexander Girard, Isamu Noguchi, etc. Dimensions: 31" H 23" W 24" D Uncrated weight is 18 lbs.
