DESCRIPTION: For sale is a vintage and rare "thin edge" Herman Miller ten drawer dresser or storage cabinet designed by George Nelson. This case piece would be well suited in a bedroom or could be displayed as a credenza or sideboard. Nelson's thin edge series for Herman Miller epitomizes a streamline design approach which includes elements of fine wood matching, tapered edges, steel legs and aluminum drawer pulls or knobs. The case is a rich teak veneer. T are two long aluminum/foil George Nelson/Herman Miller labels: One on the inside of the top right drawer and one on the inside of the drawer below. This remarkable case piece by one of America's top designers is highly sought after by collectors. DIMENSIONS: 67 1/8" long x 32 3/4" tall. Case itself is 18 1/2" deep and 19 1/4" deep allowing for drawer pulls. CONDITION: KNOBS: (10) original polished aluminum knobs are 1 1/8" long x 1 1/4" diameter. T are all in very good vintage condition. LEGS: Four brushed steel legs are 6 1/2" long x 1" diameter. They are recent replacements and are not original to the dresser. BACK: Back of dresser is black particle board. T are no holes in it. INTERIOR: The interior shell in in very good condition. All wood braces intact and all wood drawer guides intact. FRONT: The front facade or thin edge frame is in very good vintage condition DRAWERS: T are ten drawers. All stamped with red numbers on bottom. All drawers are solid. No loose joints or repairs. T are minor surface dings and very light scratches as can be expected with a vintage piece. First row, top four drawers: Each measures: 5 1/4" x 16 1/2" and numbered A1 148, 2 148, 3 148, 4 148. Drawers are in excellent vintage condition. No veneer loss. The top right drawer has metal Nelson/Miller tag. Drawer #3 has some nail polish residue on the inside bottom of the drawer. Second row, two drawers: Each measures 4 7/8" x 33". Both drawers are numbered 1 148 and are in excellent vintage condition. Left drawer has a removable 6 compartment insert. Right drawer has metal Nelson/Miller label. Third row, two drawers: Each measures 7 1/4" x 33". Both drawers are numbered 2 148. Right drawer has an extremely light veneer abrasion to the bottom right corner. Fourth row, two drawers: Each measure 7 5/8" x 33. Both drawers are numbered 3 148. Each drawer has two removable interior dividers. Right drawer has a 1/4" x 1/8" veneer chip on the upper right corner, a tiny veneer chip on the bottom left corner and two small indents near the drawer pull. BOTTOM: The bottom of the dresser shows shadows and screw holes from previous leg assembly. T are stamped numbers: 5723 in green and 148 in red. TOP: T is some color loss and uneven finish. T are a few tiny veneer chips to the right top edge. A few ring marks and two other areas of dark spots. Grain slightly raised. Otherwise, very light surface abrasions and light scratches expected with age. LEFT SIDE: Veneer chips and divits along the bottom. 3" x 1/2" veneer loss at back edge. RIGHT SIDE: T is a 1" x 3 1/2" veneer loss to the bottom back edge. T are a few veneer chips to the bottom and top edges. T are a few minor indents and very light scratches. California residents pay 8.25% sales tax. Sales tax is waived if buyer provides a valid reseller's number. SHIPPING: I will work with buyer to arrange shipping. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping and for paying all shipping costs.
