January 4, 1800 Ulster County Gazette Newspaper - Reporting the Death of President George Washington - Probably the Most Famous Newspaper Ever Re-Printed Starting in 1825 is a fantastic display item. It is a copy of the Ulster County Gazette from January 4, 1800. This famous newspaper relates the death of President Georg Washington. T are 4 pages, only two are visible as the paper is shrink-wrapped flat. Wonderful articles include "ON THE DEATH OF GENERAL WASHINGTON BY A YOUNG LADY" and "WASHINGTON ENTOMBED" and a letter in response from new President JOHN ADAMS. This paper was first reprinted in 1825, on the 25th anniversay of the death of Washington in December of 1799. Additional reprints were done in 1876 for the Centennial of America as well as for the Columbian Exposition in 1893. Approximately 18" x 24" in size, shrink-wrapped flat. T is probably no way to know when this issue was reprinted but it is still a great momento of President Washington's death.
