This dinner plate was manufactured by Georges Briard in the Private Collection series, and the bottom bears the manufacturer's mark (see photographs). This pattern is called "Victorian Garden" (see photograph) and features four floral motifs (birdsfoot violet, corn marigold, cyclamen, and Texas blue bonnet) on a white background further decorated with green borders and gold trim. This dinner plate features the Texas blue bonnet (see photographs). (The photographs were taken with a combination of natural light and flash. The glare is from the flash, and the shadows are from tree branches overhead.) This dinner plate is approximately 10 3/8 inches in diameter. This Georges Briard "Victorian Garden" dinner plate is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining, or other signs of damage. This plate has the appearance of having been used carefully, and t are only a few utensil marks consistent with light use. The colors are vivid, and the white surface is glossy and bright. Unfortunately t has been some loss of the gold trim around the rim of the plate.
