Very Scarce Silver Arched Plaquette, by Georges DuPre' [ 1869-1909 ], Anglo/French. This arch shaped silver plaquette was sculpted in 1899, and measures 50 X 63 mm [ 2 X 2 1/2" ], 72 Gram [ 2.5 ounces ], and was struck by Monnaie de Paris [ The French Mint ], and is edge marked with thier Cornucopia Cup Mint Mark, and the word Argent Sculpted in low relief the obverse features "Father Time" holding a walking staff with a young boy at his right side, both looking out at the sea as the sun begins to rise. The reverse features in low relief The reverse features in low relief a landscape with flying birds, and two lines of French Poetry. Thsi finely sculpted arched silver plaquette was sculpted by georges DuPre' to honr the famous french Poet, Alphonse de Lemartine, and is Very Scarce.
