GEORGIA ART POTTERY PANSY POT VASE - W J GORDY Up for auction is a previously owned Georgia Art Pottery Pansy Pot/Flower Frog. The Pansy Pot has a medium brown/golden glaze with a lighter color frothy drip on the top and down the sides. I am not sure if the glaze is the Mountain Gold, as most other pieces in the Mountain Gold glaze have been a darker brown with golden flecks in the glaze. I do not note any golden flecks in the Pansy Pot's glaze, but the glaze is very pretty. The piece has no cracks, chips, or repairs. As shown in the pictures, a couple of the holes show what appears to be glaze pops rather than chips, since on close inspection with a magnifying glass, the tiny areas show minute pitting and not a smooth area like most chips on pottery exhibit. The tiny areas do not detract from the beauty of the Pansy Pot nor do the areas stand out as a flaw since the holes have irregular edges. The Pansy Pot has 10 holes which are 5/8" in diameter around the center hole in top which is approximately 7/8" in diameter. Some of the 10 smaller holes have irregular/rough edges (outside and inside) which was the way the Pansy Pot was made. The bottom measures about 2 1/2" in diameter. Height is approximately 3 3/4" and approximately 4 1/2" at widest point. The bottom is signed "Georgia Art Pottery" in a three-line arrangement in block read more
