This is a long Antique Georgian late 18th, early 19th century 18K rose gold backed silver wonderful hand made set with 15 rose cut Diamonds CROSS Pendant, a real beauty. This is an antique Flemish Georgian era hand made Cross pendant . the Cross is 41mm (1 and 5/8 inch) long without the loop on 29mm ( 1 and 1/8 inch) wide , it is made of 18K rose gold backed silver and the loop an the the part on the back connected to it are silver too. The Cross is set with antique 13 small rose cut diamonds and 2 in the center are bigger 3mm on 2mm and 4mm on 2mm . All diamonds shine and sparkle with every movement . THE TERRIFIC long Pendant is from Georgian era in 18k gold and silver tested . The design and craftsmanship date these earrings to the Victorian period, circa 1880.Gold-backed silver or the silver on gold . This technique finds its origin centuries ago, when jewelers believed that only a silver mounting could saw the true beauty of a diamond. Backing the silver jewel with a layer of gold was a practical precaution taken to avoid the silver jewelry leaving black stains on clothing or skin. The Cross pendant has a beautiful rich design.
