This unusual georgian or early victorian jewellery or trinket box i think dates from between 1820 and 1840, it is made in the form of a linen press with a cupboard at either end and two chests of drawers in the centre, this box is like an apprentice piece but not i think with the skill of a craftsmen but more like a competant amatuer , it is made of mahogany and has nice colour and patina with age and has its original backing with again lovely patina with age, the drawers have mahogany fronts with the rest of the construction being of thick card with its original linings, 14 inches wide and 10 inches high and in pretty good condition just general minor wear and tear consistant with age
