This painting is of a soldier or officer in the late Georgian or possibly early Victorian period On his hat is the number 33 probably his regiment He is wearing what looks like a dress uniform & sword ( I don't know much about military history so cannot give any more info about the subject) The painting is oval 3 x 3 1/2 inches and has a decorative brass edge It fits into an ebonised frame measuring 5 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches It is difficult to say what medium it is painted in as it is under glass but it is likely to be a watercolour The painting is approx 200 years old and does show signs of age , on close inspection it looks to me to have had some restoration Overall it is a handsome image If you have any quesions please let me know or if anyone recognises the uniform it would be interesting to know PLEASE READBEFORE BIDDING Postage / Shipping Please make sure you are aware ofpostage/shipping costs before bidding .
