This auction is for 8 Georgian and Victorian small glasses. 5 of them are wine or cordial glasses, possibly sherry. 2 are I think what are known as Bonnet or Monteith glasses. 1 is in the Roemer style but I do not know it's origin, don't think it is English. Pictures 1 - 3: Georgian glass with large foot, faceted stem and snapped pontil. 10.1cm high, 6.3cm bottom diameter, 4.9cm top diameter. Some dark coloured inclusions of matter at the base of the stem and within the foot. Picture 4: Early Victorian glass with six sided waisted stem with the cuts finishing in the base of the bowl, printie cuts around the bowl. 11.2cm high, 6cm bottom diameter, 5.8cm top diameter. Partially polished pontil. Picture 5: Victorian glass with irregular cuts to the base of the bowl, partially polished pontil. 11cm high, 5.4cm bottom diameter, 5cm top diameter. Picture 6: Early Victorian glass, inverted baluster stem, oval shaped cuts to the base of the bowl, partially polished pontil. 10.8cm high, 5.9cm bottom diameter, 5.5cm top diameter. Quite a thick glass with a greyish look to it. Picture 7 & 8 Cut glass possibly bonnet or monteith glass, square base flat underneath with star cut, fluted cut stem the cuts going through the knop to where it joins the bowl, diamond cut pattern to the bowl with vertical cuts to the top. 8.2cm high, 4cm read more
