DESCRIPTION : This is a STUPENDOUS sterling silver cuff bracelet that was handwrought in Taxco, Mexico, circa mid to late 1950's, by silversmith maestro, GERARDO LOPEZ. Maestro LOPEZ had a large taller and shop in Taxco in the 1950's ~ according to Penny C. Morrill's and Carole A. Berk's fabulous book, Mexican Silver , his shop was listed as being among "the best silver shops" in Taxco in a 1950's guide book. This spectacular bracelet is masterfully crafted of heavy gauge sterling silver in a clean, sleek modernist design with a great art deco flair! This cuff is cinched in the center and has a multitude of silver domed ball accents ~ truly extraordinary design and execution. This is an elegant and timelessly classic Taxco silver bracelet ~ it would be a wonderful asset to your vintage Taxco jewelry collection. This is piece is collector/museum quality ~ a signed, early piece by one of Taxco's most talented maestors, Gerardo Lopez ~ extremely well designed and well made ~ simply, THE BEST! SIZE: Inside circumference is 5-5/8" with a 1-1/4" opening in the back (this is not adjustable due to the thickness of the silver), width is 1-3/8", and weight is 48 grams.
