This knife for auction is one of the very rare Final Production Run 1990 etched Gerber Rolox varations featuring the Genuine Cocobolo scales. Initially, the BenchMark Knife Company out of South Carolina produced the Rolox knives and was a division of Gerber Legendary Blades; BenchMark made the first Rolox knives and then became a division of Gerber. This Final Production Run variation however was produced By Gerber and features the very hard to find oval Gerber Legendary Blades Portland, Ore USA shield. Please see the Supersize Photos. This knife was one of the very last to be made by Gerber, as after this model was made, the production went back to BenchMark Knife Company, in South Carolina. This Cocobolo frame is 3 7/8" closed, and 6 1/2" overall with the blade being about 2 5/8". Please see the Supersize Photos. We acquired this knife in a another mint old stock find. These haven't been shuttled around all over the country, they are in good crisp shape as we got them right out of a safe they were stored in, along with other mint old stock BenchMark and Gerber knives. The blade extends out of the handle by pushing on the textured top end of the blade and the blade easily slides to extension. The blade unlocks and slides back in by depressing the lock on the underside of the frame. The blade is etched on the front with "Final Production Run 1990". This 1990, Gerber Shield, Final Production Run, Gerber produced Cocobolo Viper is in mint condition in the original issue Gerber Legendary Blades Ballistic Sheath and being offered at No Reserve.
