Originally retailed for $72.50 Description: Affectionately referred to as the Gerber , this hardcover book is Volume 2 of a four volume series . The first 2 volumes volume display hundreds of full-color photos of comic book covers spanning from the earliest years of Comics' Golden Age (1938-45) through the dawn of its Silver Age in the mid-1950s. The first volume contains titles beginning with letters A-J.This huge and heavy hardcover book is 13.75"H x 10.5"W x 1.25"D; and weighs @ 5.5 lbs. Containing reproductions of classic comic book covers from the Golden Age and Silver Age. Entirely in color! Now else can you find so many wonderful pictures of classic and rare comic books, from long runs of Action, Detective, Batman, Phantom Lady to the most obscure titles. Note: It is very common to find these books with occasional minor bubbling to varnish on dust jacket or dinged corners, that's how they were originally shipped. Be careful when purchasing and be sure to ask first. The condition of the book is VF/NM due to some corner dings. Dust Jacket is also also VF due to corner dings. The two volumes contain an amazing collection of 21,760 photographs of the covers of Golden and Silver Age Comic Books printed from 1935 thru 1965. Photographs of complete or near complete sets of Action, Batman, Detective, Flash, Superman, Captain America, Captain Marvel, etc., with a detailed realized 'Relative Value Index' of 50,000 comic books. Many of the 21,000 photos of comic books are of the only known copies in existence. Printed on high gloss heavy stock paper. Volume 1 contains 10,700 color illustrations with over 400 pages, Volume 2 contains 11,060 color illustrations and over 400 pages. Also included is a scarcity guide to each issue, special introductions, and artist information. I cannot recommend this enough. It is the most valuable comic book publication since the Overstreet Price Guide, and far more fun! The Photo Journal to Guide to Comic Books is a the most comprehensive collection of actual comic book covers that exists today. Each beautiful hard cover edition painstakingly catalogues very rare and scarce Golden Age and Silver Age covers of many popular comic books of yesteryear. Such an undertaking would essentially be a life's work for any individual who would devote their time to such a conquest. Each edition contains over 400 pages and over 21,000 full color images of some of the highest quality copies of these comics to be found. The value that is contained in each of these hardcover books is priceless to any true enthusiast of comic book art. Book never read or displayed and only opened to take these pictures.
