Nice condition German World War II bayonet with an authentic frog that is maker marked as well! Overall length is approximately 16 inches; the blade measures approximately 10 inches. Bayonet bears multiple hallmarks including "WAa 519; please see photos. The blade and matching scabbard are serialized "1158 b" on one side of the ricasso and "clc 43" on the other. Over 80% of the original blue remains on this blade as well as the scabbard and hilt. The tip has it's original tip and the blade appears to have never been sharpened. virtually no rust but moderate marring on both sides and partly along the spine rom later war machining oversights. Wear scratches are present also from being removed and placed back in the scabbard over the past 50 or so years but still MUCH nicer than you are likely to see for sale.. Please see photos. The bakelite grip is tightly fit to the blade shows great mellow light brown patina and is otherwise in very good condition. The latching button is present and remains functional as well as having a "58" partial serial number stamped on one side (see pic). The scabbard presents a slight patina, with minimal dents, scratches and moderate pitting. The throat screw is still present on this one. The ball finial at the drag is also hallmarked; sorry I could not take clear enough photo to show you, and I can't clearly make it out, but t is a hallmark t Do not pass on the chance to add this great bayonet and scabbard to your valuable collection. Thanks for visiting and please have a look at my other auctions; The makers mark on the back of the leather frog reads "L.L.G Schlesten 1942". The frog is really great condition with all stitching intact, keeper stud intact, and supple leather throughout even on the keeper strap1 Note: T is a picture of the only damage to the frog below w at one point someone tried to remove the bayonet forcefully from the frog and the area directly above the keeper stud hole tore. This could be glued I guess, but I never botd with it. This piece will not disappoint! GOOD LUCK, but better yet BUY IT NOW while YOU still have the chance!
