This is a German Beer Stein. It is 13 1/2 inches to the lip and 16 1/4 inches to the tip of the lid. TThe bottom diameter is 4 3/4 inches and the top opening is 3 inches. The bottom of the stein says Germany, under that it has the number 1114 (which is also included in the decoration), under that is 0, under that is a triangle, under that are the letters NH. Also in the decoration appears to be the letter K inside of a 3. The lid is still attached, it wobbles a bit but it works good. I wouldn't hazard a guess as to what type of metal it is. The decoration depicts a tavern with two horn players and a fiddler and a man with a pipe sitting on a stool ( under him says "Der Protzenbauer") and a serving wench. The background is brown and the figures are cream with black outlining. The lower border is dark green with what look like grapes (could be hops). The is a banner that says, Wohlsein! The upper border is dark green with some kind of design. The handle appears to be a grape vine with leaves and grapes. It appears to be in excellent condition. I don't see any crazing or chips or cracks As far as I can remember this piece sat on a shelf behind the bar in my parents bar. I'm guessing a customer paid their tab with the stein. Please ask questions as I'm not really into beer steins.
