German bisque head character baby with smiling expression, grey glass sleep eyes painted hair. Open mouth (teeth and tongue are pushed inside head) - Lovely dimples in her cheeks.Original cloth body with composition arms and legs with original finish. Marked on back of head: Copr, by Georgene Averill // 1005 / 3652// Germany. Size is 16 1/2 inches tall. Circa 1925. This doll belonged to my mother, who was born in 1918 - the head is in good condition, no cracks, but could use a good cleaning (I'm no expert, so I'll leave that to the buyer) - the body is cloth with a non-working voice box in the back. The condition of the arms and legs is okay except for one leg - this is the bad news.....the left leg has extreme crazing and lifting of the composition coating off of the material underneath (I don't know what material it is) - the other arms and leg show some normal crazing, but are not bad and are not lifting. The cloth body is torn slightly underneath one arm and discolored around the neck area - the original clothes that were with this doll are pretty frayed, but I would be happy to send them along with the doll. My Mom called this doll "Dimples" for obvious reasons - she passed away this January and so I am trying to find a good home for this dolly. I know condition is an issue, so I am pricing it hopefully for someone to care read more
