a very nice rare German NCO sword. Made by :Carl Eickhorn Solingen. 1 Langet is engraved with: (2 Lightning signs }-- Oscha H.Gottke 17th ( 2 lightning signs)-- Panzer Grenadier division. The other langet has 2 big lightning signs. I can provide more info and history about this sword. Extra info: Oberscharfuhrer Heinrich Gottke The only "enlisted man" within the Division to win the Knights Cross, Gottke was a member of 3 Batterie, 17 Flak Abteilung which was under concentrated US armoured attack. Using a Flak gun in an anti-tank role the twice wounded Gottke remained at his gun knocking out several US tanks and more or less held off the attack on his own as his comrades lie dead and dying around him. Eventually reinforcements arrived and he was relieved. He was awarded his Knights Cross on the 17th December 1944. I contacted some experts in this field of swords and said that from pics it looked ok,however they have to see the sword live to be sure. I could send it abroad for a valuation, but with all the customs paperwork,ex-and import, taxes and waiting time I decided to sell it on Ebay. I can provide you high detailed pics if requested. I am not an expert on german WW2 swords so you have to judge the autthenticity by yourself. The sword will be sold as is. Blade is straight and clean. Scabbard has some wear but overall read more
