T are 100% original German pre-war brass alloy, zinc plated split pins. This is the type that should be found on an original pre-war/early war M35 helmet. is exactly what you need for that original double decal apple green German helmet that is missing the original pre-war/early war brass split pins. These zinc plated brass liner pins are very rarely encountered, they are original. I found these on an original pre-war M35 German helmet. The helmet had been tampered with post war and painted with thick black paint, probably for a motorcycle helmet as was popular in the 50s and 60s. The split pins however were not messed and are in perfect condition. from 1931 will 1940 split pins were made from brass and were plated with zinc. It was found that the brass tended to be too soft and the liners would sometime shear off from the pins. Starting in 1940 the German military ordered that all the pins be made from steel, however it is known that at least one firm continued to make brass pins as late as 1941. These pins are in really good shape. They can easily be installed into a helmet. T are no maker marks or dates on them. That could mean they were made before 1938, since the German government required manufactures to date and mark t products after 1938 , but I can not be sure.
