This is the type of Stahlhelm as used by the Wehrmacht during ww2-period. xx) Material : solid and heavy steel ! I repeat this: steel is solid and heavy! Helmet was made to take hits. Liner is of real leather ! xx) Condition : excellent condition ! Few scratches on shell, as is normal. See pics! xx) Size-shell : medium. Take notice: liner is adaptable to bigger and smaller sizes. xx) History : This PostWar-M40Stahlhelm was made for use of German border-police. Untill appr. 1990 the germans kept producing the M40-type Stahlhelm. The M40Stahlhelm was during the waryears in use by the Wehrmacht. Appr. 1990 german police changed of headgear and put the M40-helmets on the market, w we purchased them. The Stahlhelm offered for sale is one of that lot. Hence, this Stahlhelm is no low-quality repro !! I repeat: No repro!! xx) Decal : half of german eagle against golden background and red-white banners; i noticed, that german Polizei (police) wear the german eagle as depicted on the decal, on their uniforms. xx) On the whole: a heavy German M40 Stahlhelm in excellent condition. Look at her, look at her 'Schnauze' (outstanding visor): a beauty for the eye. [b-16 ]
