GERMAN HUNTING/FORESTERS CUTLASS, Early 1900s. 18 3/4 inch blade. 5 inch handle. Unmarked as to maker. Blade is etched on both sides and top edge with leaf, sword, and cannon designs. Stag handle with three silver colored acorns. Nickel-silver crossguard in the form of stag hooves. Fluted clamshell guard. Handle is topped with a fluted nickel-silver fitting. T is a number '1' stamped in both the hilt and the top of the scabbard. Black leather scabbard with nickel-silver top and end fittings. Overall condition is very good. The handle and fittings are 'excellent'. The blade has a few dark spots. The leather of the scabbard is very solid with some minor flaking, while the metal ends have no dents or scratches.
